Re: The Western States Trail Foundation

Dear Mr. President,

It has come to my attention the Western States Trail Foundation has lost
it's main link into the town of Auburn, California due to closing of the
84 year old, but still historic "No-Hands Bridge." This is a part of the
Western States Trail which once linked Sacramento with Saint Joseph, Mo
via the Pony Express. It also endangers the running of The Tevis Cup. The
first endurance "race" (ride) in modern history and the most famous event of
it's type in the world. As a little more of our historic past is lost to
us and our heirs and a daily basis I and thousands of other users of the
Western States Trail feel it's important to keep the trail open.

I shall send a similar message to my State Assemblyperson, State Senator
and Gov. Wilson. Any influence you, the Vice-President or the First Lady
might be able to render would be appreciated.

T. M. Crockett
