I rode with a friend, M. E., on her first 100 at the FOF. She rides an
English saddle and she was raw for a week. She was going to do the FL
Classic 2 day 100 and decided that she couldn't ride the English saddle.
She has a Boz and decided to use it. Her horse Quicky has a very long fast
trot.

Using the Boz she said he didn't want to keep up with horses at a trot that
he normally can out trot. It seems that on Quicky the forward position of
the rider that the Boz forces was interferring with his shoulder blades and
was causing him to trot short.

I had always theorizied that this might be a problem with the Boz. The
good news was that M. E. was not raw after the ride. It seems that at
least with Quicky the saddle is fine for the rider and lousy for the horse.
Now M. E. is also saddle shopping.
