It's a well kept secret that there is still
a fair amount of open space left in this
overcrowded state! Allaire State park is a
wonderful training site for sand and hills, there
are a number of other parks in Monmouth county
that welcome horse. I'm lucky enough to board next
to an orchard and a large farm that has woods and
hills. There are many such areas, especially in
Monmouth and, in the north, Hunterdon county,
especially near Gladstone and the USET. Contact
Susan Data Samtak (908-725-9649) for more information.
She and her husband John are two of the most active
promoters of trail riding in NJ. They could also use
some help in organizing the Canal 25 competitive ride
this year (hint, hint)!
