My uderstanding of the AERC drug policy is if it is detected in a test and
it is not a natural substance normally present in the horses system or if
in is a normally present substance in abnormally high concentrations, then
it is considered a drug and its use is prohibited. It is not always the
active substance that test, but other trace substances that are present in
the production process may test positive. I have heard that MSM will test.
It seems to me I saw a list of commonly used "drugs" and their clearing
times in the AERC News several years ago. MSM was on the list. I would
also assume that DMG and Flex Free fall in this same category.

I have also heard from other sources that Adequan doesn't test, probably
because the product is fairly pure.

Maybe Joe Long or one of the vets could help us out.
