IAHA has actually expanded its distance riding award programs and promotional efforts by approving a new highpoint award for Arabians and Half-Arabians/Anglo-Arabians competing at the 50 mile to 99 mile distances. This new award will be presented at the 2002 AERC Convention for the Arabian and Half-Arabian or Anglo-Arabian that has won the most AERC points at those distances. IAHA has also expanded its National Championship to include a 50-mile National Championship in addition to the 100-Mile National Championship. In addition IAHA now offers an Amateur Achievement Awards Program that tracks points/miles by amateur rider rather than by horse.
