My horse, Sig, had wolf teeth pop through at about 12 years of age. (I
discovered them when he became hard to bit and would toss his head plus
carry the bit on his tongue instead of letting it float in his mouth.) They
can be pulled but since his were so big and had roots really deep -- I just
took the bit out of his mouth and put him in a hackamore. The 'wolf teeth'
do not keep him from eating or chewing and I personally think it's a lot
more confortable for Sig. He is NOT allowed to graze with the hackamore on.
A lot of geldings that were gelded late get 'em and so do stallions. He's
been in the hackamore for about 13 years and does great.
