Re: [RC] Unsponsored Juniors Miles - LOUISE BURTON

    Erica,

Having two juniors that rode unsponsored, we went through this.  Yes, I think the points are split.

My son rode most of the year as a junior, and then changed in the fall.  At first I noticed his points were accumulating in the junior standings, which was not fair.  But in the end, they were knocked into featherweight.  Many juniors, at least in our region, change halfway through the season.

I have a question about unsponsored juniors ride miles.  Without getting into a debate about the good  and bad aspects of juniors riding alone, I would like to know how AERC handles the ride miles.

Lets say a junior completes 3 rides unsponsored and 3 rides sponsored.  Will the miles be counted as 150 (assuming all rides were 50 miles) in the featherweight and 150 in junior? So for total miles for the year they would receive 300? How will that work with the regional award points etc..

I have looked in the rules and regulations online.  If anyone know where to find the info I would appreciate it.
