Does anyone know where I can have a custom tack item made? My husband
uses a racing-style breastplate on a Sharon Saare saddle. It is neither
English nor western; has one simple band across the chest, attaches to the
saddle with straps that buckle into the D-rings (I would add snaps for quick
convenience), and has a thinner strap that goes over the neck at the withers,
holding the breast part up into position. Complicated description for a
simple item. I would like it made in brown beta biothane, and have the
breast part made of something without harsh edges, rather like the Wintec
English leathers. Actually, on of those would be just about right for the
breast strap...about the right width and without cut edges. They become
shiny with use, however. Who of all the tack suppliers makes custom
items?
