RE: [RC] horse clipper quest - Alison Farrin

I used those for years and wondered why it took me 4 hours to clip a horse and other people finished in 1-2. It was worth it to me to spend an extra $75 for bigger clippers and finish in a hour - not to mention that I clipped 6 horses on one set of blades with the bigger clippers and I only get 1 horse out of a set of A-5 blades.

    >>>>>I am in the market for horse clippers and am sure that there are plenty
    of
you out there who can help me make a decision on which would be the best buy
for my needs. Would like not to spend over $150.00 including blades, wash,
    etc. As light
weight as possible, quiet, detachable blades and enough power to do a body
clip easily. Two speed might also be nice.<<<<<

Oster A-5 Golden with detachable blades- about $100. Get two blades, a #40
    (very close)and a #10 or #15 - about $20 each. The #10 blades come in wide
    width also.

I groom dogs, and have used these clippers for years. There are lighter,
quieter clippers (I own five pairs of clippers) but the Oster will last the
longest with the coarse hair coat of a horse.
