    [RC] Fat/Dietary Questions - MYJINANDJUICE93

    Hi all,
I would like to ask you a few feed questions if that's all right with you folks.

I have been bringing up a 6 year old mare, Fudge, who attempted her first 50 last weekend.  Her heart rate was bouncing around at the 38 mile check so, not wanted to over stress her, I pulled her.  She's been getting a fat supplement in moderation along with equine senior, advantage, and beet pulp about 3 times a week.  She's fed equal amounts of Alfalfa and an Oat, Barley, Milo and alfalfa mix hay.

So my question for you is, what is the best way to feed fat; supplement, oil, grain, etc.???

Last year my mom's mare was having similar problems, and we later found that she was allergic to corn.  So we added cocosoya to give her the fats she needed.  I'm wondering if maybe Fudge had too much fat or not enough, or I'm giving it to her in the wrong format.  So if anyone has any ideas it would help a lot.

Also, Any ideas on antioxidants and how those might help, not help, and if they would help, how best to add those to the diet???

    Thanks,
    Audrey Adams
