    Hmmm...IMHO, stones are a bad idea. What works better is to use one or
    more leftover pieces of white salt, about golf ball size or a little
    larger. Doesn't have to be round, just a chunk. Also sorta depends on
    how big your feed tub is. In a rubber tub on the ground, I use half of
    one of the small blocks. The horse gets additional salt, and actually
    gets used to having the salt there and unike stones, it has a "taste"
    for identification.  Have used it many times to prevent wolfing down
    feed. This is a good precautionary measure when you first start a horse
    on beet pulp.
