[RC] Owyhee Canyonlands - Steph Teeter
A few announcements for those of you planning on coming to the October 22-26
ride:
5 days of Endurance - 255 miles - Tuesday Oct 22 - Saturday Oct 26
3 days of LD - Thursday Oct 24 - Saturday Oct 26
Halloween costume contest on Saturday (you must ride in costume!)
Discount for pre-registration. There's a registration form at
http://www.endurance.net/oreana/owyheecanyonlands/ - please please
preregister, I need to get a good idea of the number of meals to prepare. I
won't cash checks until after the ride, so if you don't ride as many days as
planned, you can just write a new check afterwards. Plus I can get all of
the registration paperwork done before the ride if you preregister.
Metal corrals: are available for rent, but I need pre-payment to hold your
reservation. $10/night.
Farrier: a farrier will be here on Thursday, Oct 24. And on call if
necessary.
Shoes/Pads: Some days are rocky, some are not - I'll have a flyer for each
day that you ride with descriptions and recommendations, but overall - I
would recommend pads or easyboots.
Dinners are provided with entries, if you think you might want bag lunches,
I can arrange with the cook to make them available for purchase. Let me
know -
Directions are on the webpage. You may arrive as early as you wish - we'll
be here. (I might put you to work though :)
The trails are looking good! If the weather holds one day will go into the
mountains, the other days will be lower elevation, with some special places
on each day. All days loop out of camp at our ranch.
