[RC] Horse Buying - Which sounds best? - Tamara Murray

    Hello again,

The search for the perfect horse continues...

I have 3 prospects in mind, all the same price:

Faline - three year old 1/2 Arab 1/2 QH buckskin mare, unregistered. So pretty!
Sounds like she has lots of ground work, not yet backed. Free lunges, knows
commands. Saddled, bridled, yields to bit from ground. Nice solid legs and big
feet, QH hindquarters with Arab face and elegance. Up to date on all health
care, foot care and shots. Sounds like she has a nice temperment. Will supply
    coggins for free.

Rain - three year old pure Arab mare, papered. Also very pretty. Very light
bone, small feet, little hindquarters. She has a nice temperment. Splint on
right fore. Up to date on farrier, shots and deworming. Halter broke but no
ground work whatsoever. Doesn't even know how to tie. My initial thought was
that she is too light for heavy work.

Walt Disney - yearling Anglo-Arab gelding. Owner says he has scar on left fore
and warts right now. Halter broke but little or no handling. Dewormed,
irregular foot care. Dam was competitive trail horse and TB sire was a sport
horse sire. His dad was 17 hh so this guy will be big. No pics yet so that's
all I have to go on.

Which sounds to you like the best bet for endurance mount. Email privately for
pics. I could really use some expert guidance on this one.

Thanks ridecamp, you guys are awesome.

    Tam
