Riding as Religion, was: Verbal Cues

I have always refered to my long treks through the woods alone, on the back of a horse, as "going to the Church of Mother Nature."  When my mom was living with us, I would drop her at Mass on Sunday morning and go the the Chuch of Mother Nature with my horse.  I do some freelance writing, and I can tell you that I have written more inspiring articles in my head from the back of a horse, than I have ever written in front of this machine.

My horses and the trail are all for my mental health....and now you know why....I definitely "commune with God" when I am out there....My own little religion....

I once saw a saying that stuck with me. I'm sure I'm not quoting it exactly but the jist is there...

"One is never so close to God as when you are on the back of a horse."

Says it all.
