Re: [RC] Trail Marking - Lif Strand
A funny (sort of) note - I put on a 10K run this year, the day after the
Endurance Ride That Wasn't (the run didn't go through the National Forest
so it was OK to go). I didn't have a clue how runners would like the road
marked, so I marked it like I would an endurance ride except for not so
many ribbons (when I walk or run I'm always looking at the ground so I
figured most runners would also do that). I got LOTS of compliments on the
route markings - most of the runners surprised that I could do it so well
since they knew it was my first 10K to manage.
It's REALLY EASY to mark a 10K road race, gang! You just put your bag of
flour or lime on the floor in front of the passenger seat of some sucker's
car (the car will turn white quickly), get yourself a plastic cup, keep the
door open with your left hand while you dip and pour flour/lime with the
right directly onto the road while the car is moving.
We have very tolerant cops around here.
