Re: [RC] Norco Ride: So California - FASTGraphic
I could not agree more! The staff was unbelievable, and the experience was
one long adrenaline rush! Water! In drought devastated So Cal! Incredible!
And not just puddles or pathetic streams...some wide river crossings and
deep water to boot! Solitaire and I completed, besting our last 50 mile time
by more than two hours, despite the water and the INCREDIBLE heat near the
end! To those of you not there, understand that the actual temp at the last
hold was a blistering 114 degrees! And on the occasional open, sun-baked
white sand areas it felt more like about 200 degrees!!! But there were very
few pulls (no doubt due to a lot of serious talk at the ride meeting about
the probable severity of the conditions) and I, for one, was
sooooooooooooooooo proud of my Standardbred mare! She took it all like a
trooper and managed straight A's at the final vet check. This was an awesome
ride, a wonderful experience, and I am quite saddened that the ride will not
be held next year. Is there any way we can talk Lynn into just one more
time??? :o)
