    Hi. I know you said you didn't want fish in the tank but I have had a 50 gal. tank for 5 yrs. and finally put 5 goldfish in and boy does it work! Also, keeps the mosquito breeding down in that tank. It's so clean!! There's no algea whatsoever. The fish are pretty cheap and I've lost 2. One of the first ones died a week later and the second one committed suicide by jumping out. I've added more and they are thriving the last few weeks. They can also stay in there with the water heater during the winter.
