    Well, there you have it.  There would be no need whatsoever to include
    the words "within the ride" unless the intent was to make it clear
    that the 30 minutes only applied to vet checks out along the trail,
    and NOT the finish line.  Otherwise just saying "Any equine not
    meeting pulse criteria within 30 minutes of arrival at a veterinary
    check point will be disqualified" is completely sufficient.  The whole
    purpose of the words "within the ride" are to make it clear that the
    30 minutes specifically does not apply to the post-finish-line exam;
    unfortunately, locating this rule under 6.2 instead of under 6.1 has
    muddied the waters for some.
    
    Fortunately, the matter can be easily remedied at the upcoming BoD
    meeting.
