I'll agree with this one. A friend of mine owns this big paint. She trained
him very well. She rode him for two years. Then she had a bad accident on
him where she broke all kinds of things, including her collarbone. She tried
to ride him again, but was petrified. She decided to just sell him. She sent
him to a guy that was supposed to buy a filly from her. Ended up bringing
both home. Sold the filly to someone else. Paint is still there. But she's
    still scared of him.

I guess the accident was about 2 years ago...maybe a little longer.

Now the horse has been worked with by another lady. The horse is showing
tremendous recall on all the training he had before the accident. So he's
going to be trained for dressage and probably will be given to the other
    lady eventually.

My friend is still very wary of this horse and she surprised me by riding
him for about 5 minutes the other day. She was quite stiff while she rode,
    though.

And she has a lot of knowledge! She runs a lesson barn, teaches horse riding
at a preppy private school, and reads every chance she gets. Not a lack of
knowledge here. She's just being safe.

But, sometimes the person can be knowledgeable about horses and still be
afraid of that particular animal for their own reasons. I had a horrible
