    No, this rule does not refer to gaited horses (as in "pace" as opposed to
    trot), but rather to having a second (fresh) horse come onto the trail at
    some point during the ride to set the pace (as in speed at which the horses
    are traveling) for a leading horse who might not be so willing to maintain
    its lead without a traveling buddy.
