Just a reminder to all interested riders that the Swanton Pacific 75/100
website is online. Here you can get all the information you need about
this ride, see photos of last year's first-to-finish and BCs, some of the
scenery, and an 11-year old on her first extended distance (she just
happens to be our granddaughter). The entry blank is printable, and
you can mail it in. Unfortunately, the ride is not FEI sanctioned as
stated, because the person who was to coordinate the FEI part was unable to do
it this year. Don't let that stop you from attending, however. We
have been approached about hosting the AERC Championship for the next two years,
and it looks promising at present. We need the support of all of our
daughters and sons-in-law to help run this ride, so far we have talked to four
out of six of them, and they are agreeable. This is a perfect opportunity
for those prospective championship contenders to see the trail and size up the
