[RC] further on bleach in puncture wound - Brenda L. Kossowan

Hi gang: An anonymous guest had some harsh words regarding bleach in the
foot bath, stating that you shouldn't put something on your horse if you
wouldn't put it in your eye. Well, I have used hibitane and a
betadene-sugar paste on open wounds and you can bet your petunias I
wouldn't be washing my face with either of them. If the un-named party
with the pierced navel will recall, the bleach was recommended as part
of the original soak only, to cleanse the wound and kill any pathogens.
I use my bare hands to stir the mix and test the temperature, and I'm
sticking with my story. I have also used a mild bleach solution to clean
other cuts and abrasions in the lower limbs in preparation for dressing.

    Cheers,
    bkbkbk
