I think the AI thing could be a positive step because all too often I
see people breeding 2 types of mares. Those who go lame and are no good
for anything else and those who were never broke to ride and have never
proven themselves. Let someone get a *really* nice mare that goes out
and does something and they hate to breed her...they don't want to give
her up for that long. Then the first thing they know those mares are 17
years old and have never been bred. I'd love to see some of these really
great mares who are out there performing get bred, then put *their* foals
in those mares who have nothing else to do but be bred. Let those lame
genes just stay dormant!
