Re: Entry Fees
Lynn, at our rides, I charge for the mandatory $3 state drug testing fee
only. I do not charge riders extra for the rider fee to AERC. We just
assume that fee ourselves, and we feel that our entry fees are reasonable,
based on the quality of the ride and its amenities. I believe some rides do
charge the rider fee extra, however. As for non-member fees, the board
feels that it is unfair for non-member riders to receive the same privileges
regarding records kept for them as for those riders who support the AERC
with their membership dues. Some organizations REQUIRE membership before
anyone can participate in their events. AERC does not do that, but it does
expect some compensation for its record-keeping efforts from those who
choose not to become members.
