Re: saddle for a 4 year old quarter horse mule with good withers

Hi Max, I can't help but sympathize with you. As with so many other things in life we have allot of opinions. And saddle makers are VERY opinionated. I understand how confusing and frustrating it is for people. The thing about all these different saddles and opinions, is that they all have a good basis of truth. It just depends on what you personally want. What are you going to be doing, the riding you will be doing. What "feels" rite, You are the ultimate decision maker in this, and you will do the best if you follow your instincts. And just not let yourself get to bogged down in what everybody is preaching.  With all the opinions you are getting, be careful that the noise  does not drown out your inner voice.  Good Luck, Annie G.

Subject: RC: saddle for a 4 year old quarter horse mule with good withers

Max Merlich merlichanderson@cs.com
I am in the middle of a search for a saddle to really fit my mule for long
distance riding.  My western quarter horse saddles do not fit well and are
too heavy and my english saddle does not fit well and I prefer a little
more saddle in the mountain.  I sure would like to get some advice from
endurance mule riders on their experiences.  I am overwhelmed with
information and conflicting advice at the moment.  I would like to keep it
in the 20 lb range on weight.

Thank you.

Max
