[RC] Getting off grain, maybe? - Laurie Durgin

After checking archives, Susans website, and  actually reading it all. I was wondering.. . . My horses get hay freechoice. We only feed grain to keep weight on. Ignoring my daughters tb., our 20 yr old , and yearling for now. ..
I thought about getting Rascal and Honey(arabs)off their grain for. . .? They get 4-5 lbs a day in 2 feedings. It is 10 %nutreena mostly pellets, yes sweet).

I started the beet pulp thing, and I feed a bit of corn oil to everyone(alot to the 20 yr old, well maybe not alot after reading Susans articles,  about a cup a day. )    And the arabs get Showglo, a basic vitamin that doesn't cost buckets of money. Mainly because we only have grass for condiments. They eat a fescue, bermuda mix, if it's more bermuda i have to cut grain because they get  fatter.  But this is Ga. and my hay probably places  average to above average. So my vet said the vit. especialy A was probably a good idea. I am kind of a plainjane foods person. I am not a suppliment holic. (daughter does experiment on her tb
when she gets a bug in her head).
Could I just feet, beetpulp, oil  and less or no grain?(14.2.5 taped at around 860?)Body condition at probably considered fleshy. (Where are those ribs?)  Laurie and Rascal
