oh, ewwwwwweeeeeee, i've known a few of those unlucky sorts.  i have so far 
done 2 paintings featuring "ropers hands", the first can be seen at: 
http://www.fix.net/~kclanin/art_wc.html click on it to make it bigger, this 
one shows a split finger (crack in nail and end of finger), the other one 
(not on the site yet) has a whole lot of scars on the fingers/hand!
