      Hi Vanessa,

I too am a vegetarian :) but here I don't think it has
anything to do with getting tired. I have found this is
directly related to your hydration level so you may want to
look into this aspect. On training rides esp. it is easy to
forget about keeping yourself well hydrated. "oh I'm only
doing a fast 10 miles today so I don't need to carry my
water bottles" line of thinking. Also remember you don't
have to be thirsty for your body to be dehydrated. Try
taking some water with emergen-c added to it. This helps to
fight off "draggy butt" and replenishes electrolytes.

The only time I really carbo load is before a competition
and this is because I know I won't be able to eat much or
anything during the ride. For training rides this is not
really necessary. ( and hell on those of us that look at
carbs and gain weight!) I will carry an Ironman High Energy
Bar and nibble on it if my tummy starts rumbling. Not only
does it quiet my stomach but it makes me thirsty which
    reminds me to DRINK :)

    Regards,
    Penny
