    	Have you been able to find and successfully use any product that you can
    use as sole protection that didn't require a pad to hold it in?  Here is
    the midwest it has been one wet and muddy spring/early summer.  My horse is
    ouchy with just shoes but a friend I ride with thinks her horse is getting
    sore from mud building up under his pads and has our farrier come out often
    to clean out the pads.  I thought I had read about a product that  you can
    use as a sole packing with shoes that didn't require a pad to keep it in
    place....curious to hear if anything really stays in place, especially in mud.
