Re: [RC] Terrorists on Water Skis: Conclusion - SandyDSA

You know, I don't doubt either Howard's sincerity nor frankly the frightening truths couched in his post. And Howard, you know from our exchanges that I do like you - and even your rather renegade positions, because I think we share soem of those:)! I too fear the loss of liberties such as the ones you mentioned.  I am nto a bleeding heart liberal, not easily offended, and a big believer in fairness, responsibility and consequences. When you, someone I think of as a friend of cyber sorts, pops up with somethign that hurts, my reaction is just that - hurt. I don't feel all "holier than thou" - just....a bit hurt. I think of those childhood years when someone would call me chicken legs (they don't anymore) and cluck at me, because I had really skinny legs. It only hurt when it was someone who I thought was a friend. You probably won't want to see this :) but a few weeks ago, the message in church was truth or not? Do w e tell the truth out of  a sense of suepriority or do we tell the truth in love? I would like to think that you did not say what you did to offend your friends on RC - just popped off saying what you thought.

So....should Howard go away? Well, on that post, (sniff!) I would not like to see him leave. Maybe just play nice? Really, I know that at rides, I see and hear people realyl tryign to make nice, even with those who I KNOW they don't care for very much, and while some may see this as hypocrisy, I see it as making the attempt to live harmoniously, speaking one's mind in peace, and not to offend. I love that about this sport, in general, not seeing attitudes sported by the higher in class, but so many people working, sometimes really hard, to get along. What about it?
