I had the same accident over 2 mo. ago.  My Dr. said it will take a
full year for me to recover!!  Another patient of his who has a
similar injury will ultimately lose bowel and urinary control over
it!!!  This is an extremely serious injury.  I have also read
to carry cell phone on my person, not my horse.  Well, I finally
figured out that that means if I'm riding ALONE.  I was with
friends.  Obviously you, too, were with someone else.  Now I
will only carry cell phone on my person if I'm alone.  When with
friends, which is most of the time, cell phone goes back on my horse
where I was always safe before.  I've had a few horse accidents over
the years, but this was the most injurious that I have ever
suffered.
