I don't mean to make light of anyone's injury, but I've gotta tell ya--my first reaction to this thread was, "Thank heavens I live where there is no cell phone reception, so I NEVER have to worry about getting hurt by my phone when I land...."  :-)

  I have also read to carry cell phone on my person, not my horse.  Well, I finally figured out that that means if I'm riding ALONE.  I was with friends.
