[RC] Iron Furnace - Maggie & David

Just got home from the Iron Furnace at Pike Lake, Ohio. Long day! Muddy, cold, but no rain. Small crowd due to torrential rain for days and days before the ride. Eight horses finished the 50. Lois McAfee was first and BC, Sue Keith was second. I don't remember the rest.

All but one of the 15(?) 25 milers finished. Poor Mandee, Casey Coleman's mare. She just didn't feel right on the first loop and pulled at the half. After a pretty good while (2 hours) she had started to improve, but then got worse again, so she went to Ohio State. If anyone hears how she is, please let me know.

I pulled home after we finished. I know you should let them rest, but it is a 15 minute drive and we waited about 2 hours before pulling out. Then I went back to camp cleaner and warmer for the dinner and awards.

My Lily did so well. She is a sweet little horse, but man she's got a trot that'll shake the eyeballs clean outta yer head!

    Maggie Pritchard--still cold
    Lily--still tired
