There is "regular" riding--and then there is "daily" riding.  An immature horse needs rest days between rides of any magnitude.  Period.  Just because a few dodge the bullet doesn't mean it was "good for them."


Agreed, Heidi. Too much too soon is a huge problem these days. So is just plain too much. While there are some truly stellar individuals who ALSo get really LUCKY and stay sound, the vast majority of horsers - and people - benefit from being mature in structure and mind before competing at a level that is better left for the prepared. Different horses mature at different rates - I for one would want to be sure I had a mature horse before askign for such an effort. Just me.
