ROC UPDATE

I continue to receive questions from SW Region members in reference to
the ROC and decided to investigate the status so I could better answer
their questions.  I have not seen the ROC Entry Application, but I
understand the Entry Application requires pre entry be paid by sometime
next week AND it states that AERC, FEI & AHSA 
(USAEquestrian) sanctioning is pending.  This is not correct!!!
 
AERC Sanctioning has not been requested, so it can't be pending. 
Additionally, there has been no request for sanctioning with
USAEquestrian or FEI.  The USA-E deadline was last October 1st, but they
could (may) consider sanctioning at the time FEI sanctioning request was
made, which has to be no later than 4 months prior to the event date. 
However, except in rare cases, USA-E has not dual sanctioned an event
that has not been sanctioned with AERC.  Also, the USET Festival of
Champions AERC/FEI Rides are already sanctioned for June 22, 2002.
 
I am not suggesting that you not enter the ROC (it has been a great event
the three times I rode it).  But, if you are entering it and expect it to
be AERC Sanctioned, as well as FEI & USA-E Sanctioned, then I am advising
you as of this date there is NO PENDING SANCTIONING with AERC, USA-E or
FEI.
