Hi Tim: First clean the frog with soap and water, then disinfect with a
dilute solution of bedaine (it should look like lite tea). Then soak it in
water bucket with a 2lb. box of Epson Salts (15 minutes). Then use a easy
boot or the like to keep clean and dry, the Epson alt will draw out any
swelling and will harden up the frog and hoof. Twice a day for three days,
let the hoof dry thoroughly. P/S wear rubber gloves or your hands will also
harden up.
