Without rest, muscles get trashed.  It's not the daily work, its the rest 
in between work that the coat hanger analogy is about.  Having just 
recently had a muscle in my back go "twang" when I lifted one feed bag too 
many, I am here to tell you that muscles do snap, sort of.  The whole 
muscle doesn't have to snap - all you need is some of the muscle fibers to 
go.
