It also has to do with the width of your seat bones. I never knew my seat bones were wide until I ordered a custom saddle (Synergist), but always wondered why I didn't feel balanced in some saddles. The narrower twist makes it harder for me to balance, the wider twist which I now have, makes me more secure in the saddle. I have pretty long legs even though I'm not all that tall (32" inseam, and only 5'4") so that might make a difference also.
