This is an interesting area....I think it does depend on the temps. and the
construction of the trailer. After the first Miley I owned (starter
trailer), I always bought trailers with a huge open air space, or stock
side, like my current trailer. I am a huge proponent of ventillation. A
friend said her horse was hauled by another friend in a trailer with drop
down windows
(left open), and a closed back door. She said when they unloaded, the
trailer was far warmer than her trailer, which has a big air space at the
top...her horse was pretty sweaty.

On the other hand, another person finished a very hard 50 and the horse was
somewhat stressed. The vet reccomended NOT hauling that horse home in an
open trailer.....enouraged her to get a ride in one that was more closed in.

But, if the horses are damp after a ride, or perhaps going to a ride, I
might blanket to keep that cold air from blowing against the rump
muscles.....what do you think?
