Hi Karen: I feed alfalfa and "rolled corn" without any additives. If I am
training hard and doing lots of miles then I will add corn oil depending on
how he is keeping his weight. The list has also used beet pulp for added
nutrition, I have not used beet pulp. I have not had any ill effects from
feeding the above, one must know that my critters are on irrigated pasture
free roam. This may make a difference from your situation. Yes, they will
get a little "high" on corn and/or corn oil. I think this is just feeling
good, I have also used bee pollen "whole" to aid in weight, mentality and
digestion from "Springfield Catalog"
