Re: RC: Vosal Question

Hi,
I rode my mare for 6 years I had her in an old fashioned woven leather
bosal w/horsehair reins, etc. BUT, she was TRAINED from her youth to be
obedient to it. Thusly, she could be ridden
with a halter at walk, trot, gallop full out and would always listen.

For many rides, I rode her in a vosal because it was much lighter than the
traditional
headgear. She was still obedient, but not as much as with just the bosal.

Several times I tried her with a bit, just to see what she would do. ONE
of these times was the ONLY time she EVER tried to run off with me or was
disobedient.

To ME, the vosal does not provide the LEVERAGE of a mechanical hack, but
then again, I don't particularly care for mechanical hackamores. Maybe you
could borrow one of the Arabian S
hacks from someone to see if she is still able to grab the shank on that type?

	good luck,
	Charlene B.
