sponsoring juniors need advice

carla lawson robandcarla@bellsouth.net
Some how word has gotten about that I plan on attending the Spook Run on
November 3td in the
4H horse club that I volunteer for. I originally planned to sponsor 1
junior rider. I ride with her
frequently, she doesn't have very much help from her parents so she seemed
to have latched onto me
when it comes to help for horses. Her appy pony has an amazing trot, has
passed me up several times.
I believe that he will do great. Now I have a couple more kids wanting to
ride, I am willing to sponsor
them. I have seen them ride, have ridden with them. The last time the 4H
did a trail ride I took several
with me to ride a bit faster than the adults wanted to. I had seven kids
to watch. The ones that
didn't listen basicaly I threatened with my horsewhip that if they did not
slow down I would use it
on them. Needless to say.... the parents were not pleased to hear what I
had to say. As far as handling
kids I will not have a problem with them. They are very responsible for
their horses. The horses are in
wonderful shape. They are ridden if not every day they are ridden very
often in a week. There are
three juniors wanting me to sponsor them. I am going to do 25. I am
willing my question. Is it legal to
sponsor that many juniors? I have searched the AERC rules and either I
missed it or it is okay to
sponsor that many? I will not pawn these kids off to someone they don't
know. I am familiar with
the horses and thier capabilities. All they want is a completion, I
believe as a team effort we can
complete together.
Carla (who never can learn the word NO)
Ansata (ohhh groupies!!!!!)
Haley (can they all give me a scratch?)
Rob (we dont have children.... we borrow others peoples kids!)
