I actually like the swivels on my reins ... then I don't have to
straighten them out before I re-snap them onto the bit (laziness).

I don't like either bolt or spring snaps for reins, as they can VERY
easily get accidentally snapped onto bucket handles, hay nets, tie
ropes, anything the horse decides to rub on or put his head into.  The
bolt snaps probably less so than the spring snaps I think.  Of course, I
believe someone said something bad about scissor snaps a while ago ...
they unsnap?  How about little carabiners (with locks)?  How heavy are
they?

Hmmm ... now you've got me thinking ... (I do have a few pairs of reins
with swivel bolt snaps on them, but I'm not crazy about them).
