Brass snaps -- NON swivel

I'm trying to find scissors or bolt snaps in solid brass that do NOT swivel
(to use in making up some reins).  So far, I've only been able to find the
plated crap in non-swivels.

I have, however, found solid brass spring snaps.  Is there a reason why I
should not use these for reins?
