For just a small amount of sap, rubbing alcohol works pretty good.  But I 
prefer using one of the automotive hand cleaners, such as Goop or Go-Jo.  
Some have pumice in them, making them gritty, while others are the 
consistency of vaseline.  My husband always has this stuff in his work truck, 
and if one of the horses get sappy, I've been known to raid his supply.  <G>  
I find that the non-gritty ones work best.  Apply a glob, rub it in good, 
wait a few minutes, then wipe off.  Large sap deposits might need repeat 
treatments.  You can buy this stuff in the automotive section of Walmart or 
just about anywhere.
