This is why when I didn't have time to ride my 20 something half arab (my 
first arab experience, now I have 3 purebreds) instead of taking her to New 
Holland to make a quick buck or even trying to sell her to a good home I 
leased her - first to a riding school whose owner I know and then to 2 of 
their students. I checked up on her and she always looked good. When her 
health failed I had her put down. People still said I should have auctioned 
her to make a buck instead of paying the vet.
