1st vet check, Tori! 2 is in basecamp. And Becky Hackworth's
daughter Colleen volunteered for the finish line, but you can go help
later. :-)

Well, 144 people had thought to enter before your comments today! <g>
Today we rode to Jurupa Park (water stop on leg 4), crossed the river
below Anza Narrows Park (water stop on leg 3), crossed back north
below the Van Buren bridge (where all riders make their last crossing
before the morning hills) then down on the legs 1/4 shared trail to
the cutoff that leads to the "other" refreshing deepwater hole.
Ember was a *fireball*, 4 days after EHSC, her EZ-up boo-boos seem
not to bother her one whit.

Boy, the deepwater hole on leg 3 is *deep* this year (mid-chest deep
on 5'6" me). The bike path bypass will be open like last year (5 of
59 riders took it.)

We had a spontaneous ride meeting on the trail this morning with
John-the-ranger, his boss who had come to ride/check out the trails,
and then ran into 3 other riders who are all veteran volunteers that
mark/monitor and help with this weekend's trail work parties.

Earlier we'd noticed a rider at the Hidden Valley day use area who
"looked" like an endurance rider, so of course we wandered over to
meet. She's a open NATRC rider who had entered the 25, but after
hanging with us at ride speed, we think she should enter the 50.
Lots of NATRCers riding or helping on this ride, but not Sylvia, drat
it.

Lynne
Norco, Horsetown USA, and
it had better be 80 or 81 degrees like the last 3 years of NRR!
