Star Thistle

I am glad someone asked the question about the potency of star thistle, as
I have recently moved and have some on my place.
I have heard that horses will not eat star thistle if given a choice.  I
have a horse that thinks it is a delicacy.  I used to leave him with a
friend who has quite a bit on her property but her pastures are clean.  I
have seen him nibbling it over the fence when there is perfectly good
grass and hay available to him.  So, I'm always going to be very careful
with it.
