I have a registered Welsh Pony and a 1/2 Welsh. Neither has ever had
shoes and they are on rocky cherty hillside. I have to trim back the toe
constantly. I think it is because of their "action". They tend to pick
up their knees, not drag their toes like a Quarter Horse. If left to
their own divices I can see them getting very long in the toe, but their
feet want to splay out...hard to picture pointy.
