There is a wonderful pelleted feed I get from Jock and Pam Johnston called 
Raemakers. I cannot TELL you what a dif is has made in my black mare who just 
can't hold weight otherwise AND gets such screwy metabolics on corn and such 
that I had to take her out of work for a couple o moths while she righted 
herself last fall. Oh brother! Anyway, between the Raemakers and rice bran 
pellets AND beet pulp, she is doing very well.
